the Story Of The Temple Is An Interesting One. It Was Built By Raja Umed Singh In The Year 1762. He Had A Huge Property & A Palace In Jodhpur & He Also Owned Several Villages; Which He Used As His Personal Fiefdom. He Had The Right To Build Temples; But He Wanted To Build Another Temple For Himself Too. This Is Because There Were Many Temples That Were Built By His Ancestors & This One Was Different From Them All. The Reason For Building This New Temple Was To Be Able To Worship Shiva At His Own Convenience Without Having To Travel Far From Home Every Time He Needed It.
